## Description

We're looking for a Software Development Engineer who can design, build, and ship production-grade systems powered by large language models. You'll work across the full stack of LLM application development — from prompt design and retrieval pipelines to fine-tuning, evaluation, and deployment at scale. This role sits at the intersection of solid software engineering and applied AI, so you should be as comfortable writing clean, tested code as you are reasoning about model behaviour. You'll collaborate with product, data, and ML teams to turn ambiguous problems into reliable features that real users depend on. Responsibilities Design and build backend services and APIs that integrate LLMs into customer-facing products. Develop retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, including embedding, indexing, and vector search. Implement prompt engineering, evaluation frameworks, and guardrails to improve accuracy, safety, and cost efficiency. Fine-tune and benchmark open-source and commercial models for specific tasks. Optimize latency, throughput, and inference cost in production. Write maintainable, well-tested code and participate in code reviews. Monitor deployed systems and iterate based on real-world performance and user feedback. Requirements 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, with strong proficiency in Python and TypeScript. Hands-on experience building applications with LLMs — via APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) and/or open-source models (Llama, Mistral, etc.). Working knowledge of NLP fundamentals, embeddings, and vector databases (e.g., Weaviate, FAISS). Familiarity with ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow. Experience deploying services to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) using Docker and CI/CD. Solid grasp of data structures, algorithms, and system design. Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a cross-functional team. Benefits Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage. Flexible / remote work options. Annual learning and conference budget, plus access to compute credits for experimentation. Generous paid time off and parental leave.
